I wished to examine the different levels of abstraction I could use to embody the aura of the song through both digital and analog photography methods.
The analog element of the project explores how through lumens, photographs, and chemigrams, menial materials like sleeping pills, milk, oil, and tulle, can react to encapsulate complex, ethereal, and haunting scenes.
The work was exhibited in the UCA Canterbury’s end-of-year show, where I built and curated the display for an immersive viewing experience.
“Silk” was also chosen as the thumbnail image for UCA Canterbury’s Pre-Degree student work in the virtual exhibition for the following year.
